Game from Hopetoun Estate

Hopetoun Estate provides a range of game in season, with venison, rabbit, pigeon and occasionally hare to be had all the year round, depending on availability.  Game birds are now coming into season with Grouse available now.  Lady Hopetoun hands over the first grouse from the Estate on the  "glorious" 12th of August, to Derek, Hopetoun Head Butcher. Partridge is in season on September 1st and Pheasant on October 1st.

Roe deer venison in season

Roe deer venison is now available on the Farm Shop Butcher Counter with a variety of excellent cuts including loin, rolled or on the bone, steaks and rack of venison for a spectacular meal.  Do feel free to chat to the Hopetoun butcher, Derek about the best way to cook venison, he is happy to advise.  Derek also provides Hopetoun's own-recipe venison burgers and sausages, ideal for the barbecue.

Game orders taken

Game arrives fresh in the Farm Shop - and disappears just as quickly! So we cant guarantee constant availability.  However, if you phone in advance or place an order we will be only too pleased to try and provide for your particular request.
