Welcome to Hopetoun Estates

Hopetoun has been the ancestral home of the Hope family for over 300 years. Hopetoun House was built by the first Earl of Hopetoun in 1699; the surrounding Estate and the lands in East Lothian and Lanarkshire form a very significant part of Scotland's historical, cultural, industrial and social history.

Adrian, 4th Marquess of Linlithgow is the present head of the family. He lives on the Estate and his son Andrew, Earl of Hopetoun, now lives at Hopetoun with his family.

Hopetoun Estates residential properties range from one, two and three bedroom cottages up to six bedroom manse houses, most of which are in a rural or semi-rural setting in West Lothian or South Lanarkshire. The properties in West Lothian have close road and rail links to Edinburgh and Glasgow with Linlithgow no more than 20 minutes away. The Forth Road bridge provides easy access to the Kingdom of Fife and beyond.

Several of the Estates properties are located in South Lanarkshire in and around the villages of Leadhills and Elvanfoot with easy access to the M74.

A range of commercial and light industrial properties are also available to let from time to time. The Estate has recently completed the conversion of part of an old farm steading to office units and there are a variety of workshop and storage units varying in size from under 500 sq ft to over 3,000 sq ft.

If none of the properties advertised as being available at the moment suit your needs please complete the Let Property Application Form. This will be held on file and if anything suitable becomes vacant you will be contacted.
