Both cottages have been awarded 4 stars by VisitScotland in recognition of their high quality. Within the surrounding estate there are many accessible cycleways and pathways allowing further exploration of the estate parkland.
The Thatched Cottage

Set in a sunny glade within Hopetoun woodland and parkland, the Thatched Cottage is the quintessential hideaway for a couple. It is also perfect for a romantic escape for a honeymoon, or special anniversary. The newly refurbished cottage interior is very roomy with luxurious fittings and finishings.

Mid Lodge

Mid Lodge is a classic stone cottage situated in the very heart of the idyllic Hopetoun Fallow Deer Park, offering roomy, beautifully appointed accommodation for up to 6 people. The location is outstanding, providing peace, tranquility and fantastic views.
With three twin rooms this cottage is perfect for family or group breaks on the estate.

Enjoy Hopetoun
Our guests staying in our self catering holiday cottages not only enjoy proximity to Edinburgh but have access to a wide range of activities within the estate. All guests receive a complimentary visit to Hopetoun House and free access to the House grounds during opening hours. Visitors also have easy access to many pre-bookable activities which take place at Hopetoun. Activities include clay shooting, simulated game shooting and arrangements can also be made for archery and quad biking on the estate and we have a golf course nearby. We also have a regular calendar of public events and Ranger Events within the estate and Hopetoun House should visitors wish to take part - check out our What's On pages for event listings. Other nearby outdoor activities include golf and fishing.
