Simulated Game Shooting

Hopetoun, ideally situated near Edinburgh in Central Scotland, provides the perfect location for a leisurely days shooting with a group of friends or clients during the long summer months when the game season is closed. Simulated Game Shooting is as close to the real thing as possible - partridge and pheasant drives on the Hopetoun Home Beat are replicated using clays and grouse, pigeon and duck can also be simulated to give a truly varied day.

This would be the ideal opportunity to keep your eye in during the time when your gun usually remains firmly locked away in the cabinet. Shooting syndicates, corporate groups and groups of friends are all welcome and we can tailor a day to your specific requirements, including catering, competitions and much more.

Cartridges supplied are suitable for all guns apart from black powder. Please advise us in advance if you are bringing any calibre of gun other than a twelve gauge.  Gun hire and instruction can be arranged; please get in touch to discuss the requirements of your group.

Simulated game shooting packages

The following packages are available between April and August however we are very happy to discuss your requirements and tailor a shoot to your groups particular needs

The Hopetoun House Shoot.

This is a formal day for 16 guns. The guns assemble at Hopetoun House Stables for breakfast before heading for the Home Beat for three drives (refreshments available throughout). Lunch is taken at Hopetoun House. Two further drives take place in the afternoon (cold refreshments available) before returning to either Hopetoun House or the walled garden for afternoon tea. Cost: £350 per person (including VAT). Cost includes all clays and cartridges and vehicles.

The Midhope Shoot.

This package for 6-12 guns has the formal feel of a driven days shooting. The guns assemble at the walled garden at Hopetoun House for breakfast rolls and tea/coffee. The guns then proceed to the Home Beat for three drives (refreshments are available) before returning to the walled garden for lunch in the bothy.

After lunch the guns return to the Home Beat for a further two drives (more refreshments available) before returning to the walled garden for tea.Cost: £220 per person (including VAT). Cost includes all clays and 250 cartridges per gun. Further cartridges can be supplied at cost if required.

The Evening Shoot.

The Evening Shoot for 6-16 guns is offered during the summer months when long evenings allow shooting to take place until late. The Shoot has an informal feel, allowing guns to meet on the Home Beat for a quick refreshment before shooting over three varied drives and ending with a barbeque.Cost: £120 per person (including VAT). Cost includes all clays and 150 cartridges per gun. Clay Pigeon Shooting

Hopetoun also provides Clay Pigeon Shooting for private or corporate groups as either a stand alone activity or as part of a wider hospitality package. We are ideally situated near Edinburgh in Central Scotland. We can tailor the shooting to your groups requirements and level of experience and instruction and guns are provided.
