Hopetoun House & Grounds

Visit Hopetoun and discover a place of beauty, tranquility and architectural magnificence dating from the 17th century. It has been home to the Hope Family since the late 1600s and the present Lord Hopetoun and his family still live in Hopetoun House. Hopetoun House, a remarkable and beautiful stately home, is filled with stunning collections and sits in majestic grounds with nature trails and scenic walks. Events take place throughout the year, many on an annual basis, including the Bonfire Night Fireworks, "The Present Event" at Christmas, Ranger guided walks, outdoor theatre, music and charity events.

From 29th March to 29th September 2013, Hopetoun House opens its doors and grounds. You can also book a group visit to Hopetoun House at any time of the year.

In the main season The Stables Tearoom provides elegant surroundings for lunches, home baking and light refreshments. The Ranger Centre provides information on the natural history and environment of Hopetoun.

Surrounding the House are 6,500 acres of designed landscape, parks and farmland, encouraging you to enjoy the history and natural environment of Hopetoun all the year round.

Responsible walkers are welcome and a signposted cycle route passes through attractive countryside and woodland along the Firth of Forth.
