What's on at Hopetoun

Hopetoun House and Grounds are now closed on a daily basis until Easter 2011.  However there are many special events happening over the next few months, in particular not to be missed is our very popular annual "Present Event", Hopetoun's Exclusive Christmas Shopping Fair on Friday 26th - Sunday 29th November.  See below for further details on all remaining 2010 events and January 2011.  Our major new event for 2011 is Hopetoun International Horse Trials on July 30th & 31st, definitely a date for your diary!

   

NOVEMBER

Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th November : 'The Present Event', Hopetoun's Exclusive Christmas Shopping Fair.  Opening times:10am - 4.30pm, Admission £6

Be sure to come along and shop to your hearts content at our annual Christmas Shopping Fair. We have over 60 stands selling a wide range of high quality and unusual gifts for Christmas.

This year's nominated charity is St Columba's Hospice.

DECEMBER

Saturday 4th December - Hopetoun Green Volunteers - Winter Warmer

Assist the Ranger with practical conservation tasks within the Grounds of Hopetoun's stunning Designed Landscape.  The session runs from 10am - 1pm and is FREE.  All tools, gloves, teas and coffees are provided.  Booking is required.  Please book your places by telephoning 0131 319 3956 or email ranger@hopetoun.co.uk

Friday 10th December: Christmas at Hopetoun

The Rotary Club of South Queensferry in association with The Rotary Club of Linlithgow Grange presents "Christmas at Hopetoun 2010". Gala Concert featuring Christmas Classics, Songs and Readings in aid of Hope and Homes for Children Project Ubuntu.  7.30pm.  Tickets £15 (to include a champagne reception).

Saturday 11th December:  Family Craft Workshop 10.30am - 12 noon

Get into the Christmas spirit and go Christmas crackers at Hopetoun! Come along for a day of family fun, making various Christmas decorations.  Materials will be provided, most from the grounds themselves.  Mince pies, refreshments and Christmas music will also be provided.

Cost £5 Adults, £3 Children (Includes Grounds Entrance Charge)

Meet in the Education Room

Saturday 11th December:  Adult Christmas Craft Workshop 2pm - 4 pm

Floral art teacher, Linda Soutar, joins us again to lead another relaxed and informal workshop where you will make two decorations to take home with you.  Tea, coffee and Christmassy music provided.  Majority of materials also included.

JANUARY 2011 

Saturday 8th January 2011: Hopetoun's New Year Hike

Burn off those Christmas calories with a long walk around the Hopetoun Grounds.  We will witness stunning views of Hopetoun House, the Forth Bridges, Abercorn Church, Blackness Castle and learn about the natural history of this special landscape.

Bring a snack for the walk, a healthy one if you can!

Time: 10am - 1pm
